My Child Won ’t Eat
What did you have for breakfast? Cereal? A fry-up? Fruit? Until she met controversial child psychologist Dr Gillian Harris, 12-year-old Rachel ate 15 chocolate squares and ten chocolate finger biscuits every morning – and the same for lunch and dinner. It may sound like heaven, but it’s hardly a balanced diet. She’s one of three children with extreme food phobias featured in this documentary. It’s highly reassuring viewing for parents of “fussy” eaters, as Rachel does eventually manage half a slice of toast with her choco-breakfast. But, irritatingly, the film doesn’t focus enough on how Dr Harris helps to solve the problem, so overall it has as much substance as two-year-old Bobby’s diet – and he only eats yogurt.
